Meet Ruckus, My New Grand-Dog!
I am so excited!
Yesterday my son Greg and my daughter-in-law Kelly, a young, dog-less couple, walked into an Animal Care Center in Harlem, and walked out with their new puppy, Ruckus Herman, an 8-month-old, 30-pound pit bull-and-whatever mix! The proud parents say he’s a real sweety, and that on his first day home, he snuggled up with Greg on the couch to watch the Jets game. (And let me tell you, that was not an easy game to watch!)
My Kemba’s already good buddies with Bruce, the other dog in the family (Bruce belongs to my niece
Patty and her husband Teddy), and I’m hoping to get Kemba and Bruce together with Ruckus real soon. My guess is the three of them will hit it off great, and form a nice, tight pack.
About the name Ruckus (which I happen to think might just be the best dog name EVER!): Kelly says there was a big-headed Rottweiler named Ruckus in her neighborhood when she was a little girl, and she
thought he was a super-cool dog. So she kept that name tucked away in her back pocket till she had a dog of her own to give it to.
I can’t wait to meet the Ruckster. I can tell I’m gonna like this little guy a lot. And I can really spoil him. After all, he’s my grand-dog.

I am so happy they adopted a shelter dog. I’m sure they will be happy with Ruckus. I think shelter dogs know something when they are adopted and show so much love. I know – I’ve adopted many great Beagles. Good Luck with Ruckus. Mary
Love the pics of new family dog! Congrats!
