Dream Job — Part Two
So there’s this item about Nikka the Drug-Sniffing Dog in the Huff Post “Weird News” section on Wednesday. I didn’t see it until a couple of days later, because Beagle Man was hogging the laptop. Turns out this Nikka lives in Vaughn, New Mexico. We passed through Vaughn on Wednesday — probably just about the time Nikka was being photographed for the feature! B-Man managed to miss this story, even though it was right under his nose; he was too busy taking photos of
his lovely rainbow! Nikka got all this attention because Vaughn police Chief Ernest “Chris” Armijo stepped down after it was reported in the news that he wasn’t allowed to carry a gun because he had a criminal record. That left Nikka as the only certified member of the Vaughn police force! Remember in my last Roof Rack Report I was talking about how much I wanted to get a job? Well how perfect would Nikka’s job be for me?! I’m sure I could kick his butt when it comes to drug-sniffing. Maybe I could have gotten him to deputize me? I mean, seriously — we passed through his freaking town!!! Why couldn’t we have stopped there, instead of Seminole, Texas? I swear, next year I’m doing the driving . . .
I plan to write The Roof Rack Report for this blog (#roofrackreport on Twitter, for those who follow me already on @BeagleManHank) as often as I can while we’re on the road. But if there’s only time for The Roof Rack Report or food, I can tell you right now what it’s gonna be.

Ricky, I feel your pain. BM owes you big time. First he takes you a college that has a cat (i.e. Lion) as a mascot, now this snubbing of a job opportunity in Vaughn, Tx. All the more reason to press him to stop in Athens, GA home of the Bull Dogs. Maybe even meet Uga. Right on the way home from Atlanta
Hi Ricardo hope you be home tonight- love the picture you dad and mr carter he is nice man. love you all. luz
