What My Beagle Does When We Are Not Home

. . . and me in the sequel

RRRYes, yes, of course you’ve already seen this video, which has become a huge, worldwide YouTube hit and is being shown everywhere.  The clip has been forwarded to Beagle Man personally by Pam G. and Carol F. and Matt H. and Katie M. and Jeff K. and Eric W. and I’m sure a slew of other people I’ve missed.  Robby has even posted it on his Facebook page, for crying out loud.  (Sorry, nobody’s shown me how to post the actual live video — but here’s a live link to the video and a screenshot of it, above right.  Best I could do.)  To me, the uproar over this video is much ado about nothing . . . because we beagles do stuff like this ALL THE TIME!  They’re just not usually caught on camera.  So what does B-Man do when he sees it?  He makes a video of me sleeping — as if to say, look at clever, resourceful Lucy, who can nudge a chair over to the counter so she can climb up and get chicken nuggets out of the toaster oven.  And now look at Ricky, who can . . . sleep.  (Turn the volume up on the video and listen carefully:  You can actually hear him whispering and plotting with Greg, finally saying, “Is that good enough?”)  What the B-Man doesn’t realize is that I wasn’t sleeping.  While he, the Missus, Matt, Robby, Greg, and Kelly were all at the kitchen counter preparing lunch, I was laying low,  pretending to sleep, so that at just the right moment, I could pounce on the turkey salad!  Ah, Beagle Man.  You think you’re so clever.  But I’m always just one step ahead . . .

The Roof Rack Report (#roofrackreport on Twitter, for those who follow me already on @BeagleManHank) appears on Mondays, usually.  Actually, whenever Beagle Man decides to give me some space . . .
