There’s a New Sheriff In Town
A snippet of conversation overheard between Kemba, Ruckus, and Ricky . . .
RUCKUS: What do you make of this new, tiny, squeaky mini-person in the house? And how long d’ya think he’s gonna be around?
RICKY: Bad news, Ruckster. The little guy is part of your pack now. Notice the way your mom and dad keep trying to make you think he’s your “brother”? Please. You can see he looks nothing like you. More like a Cavalier King Charles. Or maybe a Yorkie. But anyway you look at it, you’re
stuck with him. So get used to it.
KEMBA: Did you ever have to deal with a baby like Ryan, Uncle Ricky?
RICKY: Nope, not me. By the time Beagle Man and the Mrs. brought me home, the youngest kid around was Robby, and he was already 9. Like, you know, a person. But from what I’ve heard, when babies get into the house, dogs . . . hmm. Now how can I put this? Let’s just say you’re no longer gonna lead the lifestyle to which you’ve
become accustomed.
RUCKUS: Tell me about it. I’m not even allowed on the couch anymore when their precious Ryan’s around. Which really stinks. Greg used to love it when I’d snuggle on his lap, or wrestle with him. Now, it’s “Ruckus, calm down!” “Ruckus, be quiet!”
KEMBA: See, that’s no problem for me. Beagle Man tries to snuggle with me
all the time, and, to be honest? When it comes to snuggling, I’m not really a fan. So if he wants to get all his cuddling with Ryan, I’m good with that.
RICKY: Hey, if I were you guys, I’d look at this as an opportunity. Think about it. Nobody’s watching you. All eyes are on little what’s-his-name. Do what you want. Knock yourself out. Check out what’s on the kitchen counter. Steal a few slices of Italian salami . . .

Hey Pups, I was anticipating hearing from this trio!look at some upside. There will be some cute photos of you with LittleMan..and he will also later become your primary fetch master after training from Beagleman. And Ruckus I hear you might be getting that backyard you’ve been envying.in the meantime start training to sit under a highchair and maybe even get in the front seat more often. . I know you are “man’s best friend”, but you might be surprised to become “Little Man’s best friend ” too!!sending dog kisses from Amazing Grace, Harriee Hound Extraordinaire” (and recent tennis ball consumption surgery survivor)
He’s cute, if a bit young to be a sheriff! Poor Ruckus, it’s tough not being the center of their world, but the kid will grow and become your best friend, trust the wise words of an old pro.
