Switcheroo?

Posted on by Ricky

RRRAll right, so where the heck is the Pathfinder???  I could swear we left Westport in it.  And I’m positive we were still driving it when we reached L.A.  But today I woke up from just a quickie little nap and saw GMC on the center of the steering wheel where NISSAN used to be!  (Yes, I know my letters.  Please.)  What I’m wondering is, how long have we been riding in this car?  And when did we switch?  I never noticed any difference before today:  I mean, it’s a

Hunter, my Nashville dog-sitter, took me for a tour of the Tennessee State Capitol. He’s really a cool guy

black SUV; my multi-colored “Venice Beach” blanket is still on my shotgun seat; my crate is still in the way-back, and I can still smell all my food supplies behind that damn metal barrier.  But obviously, it’s not the same car.  And I’m really worried about the Pathfinder.  That car belongs to Robby!  Does anybody know anything about this?  Oh, and on Saturday?  Beagle Man lost another of my bowls — this time at the Loveless Cafe in Nashville.  The B-Man, Mrs. B, Greg, and Kelly all get seated on the shaded porch and B-Man, for some reason, thinks it would be a good idea to tie my leash to the porch railing and place a bowl of water at my feet.  As if I’m going to sit quietly and sip while they stuff their faces with ham and eggs and sausages and biscuits and grits and fried green tomatoes.  I don’t think so.  So I express my disapproval with a series of piercing barks at 10-seconds intervals, B-Man gets aggravated, and hauls me back to the car.  And, of course, leaves my bowl in the the grass by the porch.  Where it probably remains today.  And then this morning, he leaves my doggy bed in Atlanta, at the McKays.  So for those of you keeping score at home, here’s what he’s lost of mine so far this trip:  7 of my bowls; my comfy striped red-and-white doggy bed, and my favorite teddy bear.  And here’s what he’s lost of his own: one ratty old corduroy jacket.

I plan to write The Roof Rack Report for this blog (#roofrackreport on Twitter, for those who follow me already on @BeagleManHank) as often as I can while we’re on the road.  Provided, of course, I get my necessary allotment of food & sleep :) .
