MY PALS: Frankie & Roxy
When they hear me at their front door, they both get extremely yappy. Roxy, a 10-year-old Entlebucher, because she’s happy to see me. Frankie . . . not so much. Frankie’s a 5-year-old Dachshund, and he’s got a little bit of that Napoleon thing going on. I know a lot of small dogs like that. But the real reason Frankie and I don’t get along so great? We go hiking together — me, Frankie & Roxy, Hal & Carole, and Beagle Man. And Frankie — that little wiener of a dog — always takes the lead. And Roxy and I always follow! I don’t know why. But I hate it. Still, I hold the trump card: I’ve been on a cross-country road trip, and in September, I’m going on another. Frankie’s just dying to come, but read my lips, hot dog: Ain’t gonna happen. Btw, that photo of the two of them? Beagle Man says it reminds him of “American Gothic.” Whatever the hell that means . . .
MY PALS WILL BE RIGHT HERE ON MONDAYS. IT’S ABOUT, UH . . . MY PALS. IS YOUR DOG LIKE ME . . . HANDSOME? MIND OF HIS OWN? TELL ME. MAYBE YOUR PUP WILL TURN UP IN “MY PALS.” SEND YOUR STORY AND PHOTO TO BEAGLE MAN . HE HANDLES MY E-MAIL FOR ME.

So funny, Ricky……I noted the similarity to Grant’s “American Gothic” as I was perusing your blog and even mentioned it to Nancy. She had no idea what I was talking about. Best regards, Jake Friedman
“American Gothic” had me laughing out loud!
Jake, seriously. You can be such a show-off sometime!
