A Nice Medium-Sized Dog, Huh?
Remember back when Beagle Man wanted a German Shepherd, and Mrs. B
wanted nothing bigger than a Beagle? And this Duck Toller was the Great Compromise — a nice, medium-sized dog? Hah! Have you by any chance taken a look at Kemba lately? Did you happen to notice the length of his limbs? Steve the Breeder told B-Man that Kemba was starting to look a little “leggy,” that he had “big bones,” and that he’d probably be “on the large side of the spectrum for a Toller” — and I kinda think he should know. Jon the Builder was doing some repairs up in Vermont, and he told Beagle Man not to worry about Kemba getting his leg caught in the grate on the deck: “Are you kidding? You really think his leg could fit through there? Look at the size of those paws! And when Sally the Vet posted a photo of Kemba on her website and asked her followers to guess the breed, know what responses she got? One guessed “Leonberger” (these dogs weigh, let’s see, about 140 pounds), and another guessed “Big Foot.” Medium-sized dog? Good one, Beagle Man. Instead of Kemba, you should have named him Clifford. Get it? Clifford?
