Beagles STILL Rule

Posted on by Ricky

rrrThe other night we’re watching the Westminster Dog Show, and I know exactly what the Beagle Man’s

P
Miss P, lookin’ good!

thinking:  First, the Beagle’s gonna win the Hound group, he figures.  Then the Duck Toller’s gonna win in the Sporting group.  Dilemma:  Who do I root for to take Best in Show???  I swear this is the way the B-Man thinks:  I root for them — so they’re gonna win!  Now Miss P, the top beagle, holds up her end of the bargain, but I can’t say the same for Cooper, the Duck Toller rep, who doesn’t even place in the Sporting group.  Not gloating; I just don’t think Cooper was the best-looking dog for the job.  Doesn’t hold a candle to Kemba, who, I’m the first to admit, is one handsome dude — so this isn’t some Ricky-Kemba thing, if that’s what you’re thinking.  Now, with the Toller out of the picture, when it comes to Best in Show, B-Man’s able to be all in for Miss P — who wins the whole shebang!  How cool is that!  And she’s from British Columbia, so at least B-Man can say the Top Dog is a Canadian.  And . . . she’s the grandniece of Uno, who took Best in Show back in 2008, when I was 4.  Now that’s a night I’ll never b.r.forget — because while the family was all wrapped up with Uno, I was able to sneak upstairs and nab half a turkey-with-Russian sandwich that one of the painters had left behind.  De-lish!  Speaking of food, did you happen to notice that while the judge was crowning Miss P Best in Group, she was nibbling on the pocket of her handler’s sport coat, where he kept the treats?  And that during the Best in Show ceremony, she was trying to eat her blue ribbon?

The Roof Rack Report (#roofrackreport on Twitter, for those who follow me already on @BeagleManHank) appears on Mondays, usually.  Actually, whenever Beagle Man decides to give me some space . . .
