Since I was called stubborn more times than I care to count while I was living (by you-know-who), I’d rather not have that rap now that I’m . . . not living. To that end, I, for one, will not stand in the way of this so-called “Future Dog.” My thoughts? My best friend, Nena, was a chihuahua, and she was
awesome! But Beagle Man says a chihuahua’s too small, and you know how good he is at changing his mind. The Cavalier King Charles? Cute. But . . . maybe too cute? Labs and Goldens: No disrespect to my good buddies Brodie and Brucie and Teddy and Archie and Jack and Molson. And Molly and Chester and Beau. And Hooch and Simon. And Dubs. I love you all to death. (Ooops, bad word choice.) But there are so many of you. And you’re all so nice. I think the B-Man might find you guys a little . . . safe. Sure, he swears he’ll never get another beagle, but I know the guy, and I think a little part of him wants a challenge. Then there’s the Pinscher. Not the Doberman, or the min pin, but the regular Pinscher. B-Man and the Mrs. found a write-up in this stupid book (140 Dog Breeds) they’re always using that calls the Pinscher “close to perfect in terms of character, seriousness, size, and ease of care as a dog can get.” Great. So how come I never see any of them around? The Buhund? Fabulous dog. But quite honestly, Gustav is the only one I’ve ever heard of. Do they make any more? So what would I suggest? Duh. Another beagle, obviously. But since that’s not gonna happen, I’m gonna go with the German Shepherd. That’s a helluva dog. Nothing bad to say. (How’s that, Beagle Man? Don’t say I never did anything for you.)
