Nolan, Toby, Bingo, and Brinkley

RRRFinally, we got on a roll!  After three-and-a-half weeks of visiting people, the last few days of our trip we visited not

one, not two, not three, but four of my dog-friends.  In Chapel Hill, I got to meet Bingo, and I  have to admit, he’s way cooler than I thought.  (I said he looked like a squirrel last May in a Roof Rack Report  — partially because he’s a chihuahua-terrier mix, but mostly because I was jealous that he got to hang with Beagle Man while I’d been left home.)  Next it was Toby and Nolan in Alexandria, and I feel like the three of us are totally bro’s.  Jeff and Joan and Maggie and Philip all went out for dinner in Old Town, and left us with the run of the house.  What goes on in Virginia stays in Virginia, but let’s just say we made pret-ty good use of the

doggy door.  The highlight, of course, was in Atlanta.  Remember the last week in August, just before heading west, I posted our itinerary, and told all beagles that if they were on our route, I’d try to drop by for a visit?  Well, out of the 1,635,472 responses, I chose Brinkley in Atlanta

to visit, and we hit it off like we’d known each other forever.  Brinkley, who’s only 4, reminds me a lot of Robby:  He’s a third child with much older siblings — Susan and Steve, his owners, also have Baxter (16-and-a-half) and Bayley (15).  Three beagles in one family — can you imagine?  To top it all off, Susan gave both of us, me and B-Man, home-made treats!  I gotta say, that nice lady really went the extra mile.  We’re back home now:  Made it to Westport Wednesday night at 6:50.  You might want to get ready for one of those wrap-up posts by the B-Man; I can feel it coming.  And I guarantee, it’ll be longer than this one.

I plan to write The Roof Rack Report for this blog (#roofrackreport on Twitter, for those who follow me already on @BeagleManHank) as often as I can while we’re on the road.  Provided, of course, I get my necessary allotment of food & sleep :) .
