Man, do I love these positive time zone changes!  Switching to Central Time bailed me out on my way to Grinnell, and it’s saving my rear again as I head out to Denver today.  Of course, the moment I realize I gain an hour via the new time zone, I take my foot off the pedal (so to speak), relax, dawdle — and pretty much give it all right back again!  (Ah, human nature . . .)  This morning, after realizing I’ll be

crossing into Mountain Time later today, I actually sat down for eggs in the breakfast room of the Comfort Inn in lovely downtown North Platte, Nebraska (yes, I’m fast becoming a Comfort Inns Frequent Flyer).  A sit-down breakfast could well be a first for either LA/XC-1 or 2.

Didn’t head out of Grinnell yesterday until 1:15 PM — possibly my all-time

worst departure time.  But since Sunday was what I call just a “mileage” day — I wasn’t heading for a particular destination, or a dinner date — no big deal.

Hey, btw, I’ve been on the road so much, and on such an odd-ball schedule, that I haven’t been following sports quite as closely as I normally do.  Anyone happen to know how the Jets did yesterday?  And what about Mark Sanchez?  🙂

Okay.  Gotta hit the road for Denver.  This “found” hour ain’t gonna last forever.

One last question:  I have an important decision to make for post-Denver:  Do I go to Grand Teton National Park, or Yellowstone?  Probably not enough time for both?  Any thoughts??
